Style Analysis

PRESENTATIONS

 

  1. Find a passage of one or two pages in the book that illustrates two style elements: figurative language, irony, imagery, etc.
  2. Prepare a dramatic performance which highlights the meaning (2 minutes)/or read the passage aloud in a way that clarifies the meaning (this requires creativity and practice).
  3. Share with the class transparencies, each highlighting one
  4. important style element in the passage and explain to the class the effect of that use on the story (commentary).

  5. Share with the class (one copy for each person), your group's written essay in which you explain how the piece achieves its meaning.
  6. Divide chores and points (25pts per person) to total 100%. I will give 10 points bonus to the group that does the best teaching job.
  7. Each group will rank the essays strongest to weakest and turn in to me the day after the last presentation. Strongest essay gets 10 bonus points for each group member.
