1.Choose
a significant short piece of 10 - 15 lines.
2. Prepare a script analysis:
*Copy the passage.
*Underline words and phrases for emphasis.
*In right margin write tone words and delivery notes.
*In left margin write observations about diction, irony or figurative devices.
3. Write a paraphrase of the passage
4. Write an introduction that gives your audience a context. Describe the situation in detail.
5. Memorize your introduction and monologue very thoroughly.
6. Perform the monologue:
* Introduce it.
* (Head down) enter the character/attitude.
* (Head up) feel and share the emotion as you say the lines.
7.Hand in your script analysis.
A - introduced and recited loud enough to be heard perfectly with the emotions
B - introduced and recited perfectly but doesn't capture emotions
C - introduced and recited with a few errors
D - introduced and recited haltingly with errors
F - not memorized
